Koda, the Bark ‘n Beauty!

Bark ‘n Yapp is on a quest to highlight pups in a special way through our new Bark ‘n Beauty campaign! This campaign will provide you with an inside look into these famous little pups’ lives so we can all get to know them a little better.

Introducing our next Bark ‘n Beauty…Koda!

Koda is a poodle mix approximated to be 4 years old. Many people mistake him to be a lamb, well, gremlin, Yoda, and what not!

1. How did your journey with Koda begin?

When Koda came into our lives in November 2014, I was suffering from a rare disorder called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I was unable to walk and doctors suspected I would need a service dog eventually. Well, guess what? I was afraid of dogs then! So I decided that I needed to get over my fear and adopt a smaller dog first. I walked into K-9 Angels Rescue in Houston, TX and saw tiny Koda in a cone due to some injuries and suffering from high heartworm. We bonded instantly. I knew I would take care of him, and he of me! Now we are inseparable and I cannot imagine my life without him. Not only that, I am now able to walk and am completely off of all medication!

2. What’s the most memorable story you have of Koda?

Koda is my first pet ever and came completely potty trained (lucky for me!). During his first week with us, he barked non-stop (rare for Koda) and we kept shushing him! Turns out he needed to poop. Koda finally gave up on us and went behind the couch to poop in privacy! I can never forget that story!

3. What’s Koda’s most unique attribute?

His ears! They are what makes Koda unique!

4. Are there any causes Koda really supports?

Koda goes to work everyday with me. I am a psychologist and he plays my little assistant healing my patients! Koda is also very patient with us when we bring home foster dogs until they find a home!

5. Is there anything else you’d like to share with the world about Koda?

Koda is the perfect role model for a rescue dog. He has no behavioural issues, loves being pet, never barks, has never been crated, does not chew anything up, and is completely potty trained. He would like the world to know that rescue dogs are as loving and precious as dogs from breeders. So why not save a life by adopting a dog? Koda does not know what his breed is but is definitely cute! Isn’t that a breed?

Dog Model practice again. Pretending to sleep but Mommy is relentless with this thing called a phone. It is always with her! Am a little upset because I wanted to wear the watermelon bandana from @happytailsco for National Watermelon Day but Mommy forgot to order it in time. . . This is my entry with a bowtie instead for the #htcmodelsearch. I am a big fan of bandanas and bowties and really want some nice and new affordable ones so that I can go pawty and be the bark of the town. (Mommy will probably just take more pictures and put them up!). If you haven't checked them out yet, you should! . . #fmspad #fms_d #nygpicaday #alwayswithme #dogmodel #dogmodelsearch #kodayoda #alwayswithme #dogaccessories #sillydog #dachshundsofig #poodlesofinstagram #rescuedogsofinstagram #dogsofinstagram #blackdogsofinstagram #dapperdog #barkzweekly #bestwoof #sendadogpic #halfasleep #doxiepoo #moderndogmagazine #coolpupsquad #barkhappy
